Mackintosh X Griffin

Mackintosh X Griffin began in 2006, this colab fused two brands from very different worlds to form a union that seemed completely natural. In Grifffin's continual strive to work with British mills and manufacturers we approached Mackintosh for the opportunity to rework their traditional Trench coat.

Inspired by Mackintosh's classic heritage Griffin initially created two coats which both clashed and complimented Mackintoshs legendary history. The first styled with British camo DPM as the outer fabric offered a daring alternative to the brands existing line whilst the second piece was styled in khaki and lined with the British Camo DPM, a subtle yet unique design statement.

Since our first season working with the brand we have gone on to produce antoher two trench coats which we produced in both Desert Camo DPM and Sand. We decided for this particular season we would slim the block of the coat down to give a sharper finish.

New for autumn/winter 09 we have developed a completely new design with the brand, using all of Mackintosh's heritage manufacturing skills and fabric waterproofing methods, yet with a completely different design for what the brand is tradsitionally known for. The Smock Coat is an over the head garment with a fitted hood and adjustable neck.
