Why ;Made in Italy'?Behind the scenes video at our factory in Italy

why 'made in italy'?

Here at Griffin we are determined to bring our customers the highest quality garments and for over 10 years have been working with one of Italy's finest Italian manufacturers. Whilst quality is our focus we also understand the importance of illustrating where we source everything down to our last button, this traceability is there to ensure our customers can be assured that the garments we produce are produced ethically and without causing creating unneccessary proccesses that could contribute to our carbon footprint. Over the next few weeks we will be illustrating different ways in which we do this. For an introduction check out a short video we have put together by clicking here.

Griffin is powered by Good Energy - UK's only provider of 100% renewable energy

100% renewable

Here at Griffin we do our best to recycle and live a sustainable life, what we've struggled to find in the past is a company that can help us with the power we use. After receiving a recommendation from a friend we discovered Good Energy, an energy company that help individuals and businesses reduce their environmental impact by offering electricity that is sourced from generators who make clean green energy from sustainable sources. Like many others, we signed up to help change the way energy is made and used in the UK. To find out more visit the Good Energy website by clicking here.

new for a/w 09

We're pleased to announce that we will be introducing the pointer shoe range to the Griffin Online Store as the new autumn/winter 09 collection arrives in September. After featuring the range in our recent photoshoots we new we had to offer the range to our customers. Established in 2004, Pointer was created with the aim of making simple, well-designed casual shoes in response to a market then saturated with increasingly technical trainers and hyped-up limited edition sneakers. Like Griffin, the Pointer team is a design force of like minded individuals, with the aim to offer a shoe that follows a thoughtful design with a step away from the mass market. Watch this space for the collection hittng our online store in September.

Berghaus X Griffin

November sees the launch of the newest Griffin Co-lab with outdoorwear specialist Berghaus. This season the Griffin design team have reworked Berghaus’ Elysian jacket. With environmental ethics an important part of both companies, inspiration for this piece came directly from this.

For this Autumn/Winter 2008 season, Griffin wanted to create the opposite to the mass Global image of sportswear and create something which is really exclusive. With this in mind we discovered Berghaus is the largest customer of Gore-Tex® in Europe and had a fantastic archive of expensive unused Gore-Tex®. Finding our way through the Labrinyth of exclusive colours for experimental mountain projects and different textured face fabrics we began to pull from this stock a series of interesting and brightly contrasting materials. Upon returning to the studio we began pinning, stitching and taping the recycled samples to create these two very unique jackets. A great mix of hand made meets high technology these jackets are a limited edition garment to purchase yours please visit our online store.

MADE IN ENGLAND

The Made in England range explores the wonderful dichotomy of luxury sportswear with the added principle of a discernable English provenance. “We under value many of our traditional mills who are working alongside some of the most prestigious fashion houses. Louis Vutton, Gucci and Prada”

Baracuta:

Made in England since 1937 Baracuta was conceived in Manchester and has since become synonymous with not only quality rainwear but iconic sartorial ambassadors to the tune of Steve McQueen, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Like-minded in their pursuit of creating elegant sportswear of unique quality the ongoing partnership between Griffin and Baracuta has produced a third G-9 Harrington jacket, in a typically innovative Griffin fabrication.

Mackintosh:

A brand of modern heritage built on true craftsmanship and a two hundred year history. A true innovator, Charles Macintosh developed the process of spreading rubber onto cotton creating the world’s first formal waterproof fabric. The trench coat seemed an obvious choice with its military connotations, rendered here in 2 designs featuring British DPM camouflage.

Fox Brothers & Co:

Founded in 1772 by Thomas Fox, the company has thrived in the beautiful rural surroundings of Somerset in the West of England. The Fox client base includes most of the worlds more exclusive designers, for whom the company specialises in producing exclusive designs, here their expertise has been put into practice on a pair of cashmere “Kingston” pants.

Butterworth & Roberts:

The name Butterworth and Roberts has become synonymous with worsted cloths. Manufactured from their mill in West Yorkshire these highly styled, quality English cloths have been worked by Griffin into their “Bladecut” and “Guerilla” trouser styles.

Andrew Shane:

A British, quality conscious manufacturer, with a unique hands-on approach to his product. The collaboration resulted in a series of rugby shirts.

Gymphlex:

For over 70 years Gymphlex has been providing consistently high quality sportswear. They show total commitment to UK manufacturing and have contributed to the careers of sportspeople young and old. For “Made in England” Grifffin have reworked two of their classic jersey styles

BUILT FOR A KING...

We buy all our meat from a friend called Bob King, who farms down the road. He believes that growing his lifestock slowly, keeping them outside and offering them a wide range of foodstuffs will result in happy healthy animals. The welfare of the animals is paramount to prod ucing top quality meat. Stress is recognized as having a huge impact on the eating quality of the meat. To reduce the stress he uses a small local abattoir, once the animals are killed he uses a local butcher to prepare the meat to the highest standards.

If you are interested in more information please email Bob….Click Here
